Just because they may not qualify for full AKC recognition doesn't mean you shouldn't record them with the FSS.

A dog that's not fully AKC eligible can still participate in the Open and eventually Misc. classes. They can also participate in almost all AKC sport activities.

The process for Silken Windhounds to get accepted into the AKC is a long one and will essentially come in stages. Do not let the later stages of the process deter you from recording your dog with the FSS in the earlier stages.
